Merchant numbers are in the format '805XXX'. For Preauthorisation and completion please contact ASB to enable, for more information see below.

*2 BNZ – BNZ merchants that require NZD processing only must request an 8 digit merchant number (format: 'XXXXXXXX'). BNZ merchants that require multi-currency processing must provide two OPS IDs; one for NZD and one for international currencies. BNZ merchants that are only processing NZD transactions will only need to provide one BNZ merchant number.

*3 ANZ / National – ANZ and National Bank merchants requiring an ecommerce facility will need EFTPOS numbers in the format 'DXXXXXXX'.

*4 Westpac New Zealand – Westpac New Zealand merchants requiring an ecommerce facility are enrolled for 3D Secure by default and must implement a Payment Express hosted solution. Merchant numbers are in the format '800XXX'.

Preauthorization / Completion (Tipping)

Preauthorization / completion is a two stage transactional process which involves validating a credit card in its first phase before completing the transaction. To facilitate this type of transaction, preauthorization / completion or tipping as it is sometimes known as must be enabled at your bank.

ASB merchants must request for this specifically at time of application with DPS and when configuring merchant banking facilities with ASB.
ANZ, National Bank, BNZ and Westpac merchants have this option enabled by default.

3D Secure Authentication

All users of DPS hosted solutions (Hosted Payments Package) can use an MPI (merchant plug-in) developed by DPS for 3D secure authentication at no additional cost. To enable this functionality, you will need to enrol as a 3D Secure merchant with your bank. This feature is a mandatory requirement for all ASB and Westpac merchants.

Once you have enrolled, you (the merchant) will be provided with a ‘Visa Merchant ID’, ‘MasterCard Merchant ID’, ‘Visa Merchant Password’ and ‘Merchant Category Code’. You will need to provide this information to DPS prior to activation, along with the website activation checklist (more information on this checklist is listed in section 3.0).
